Importing and following routes

Import GPX/KML routes and follow them with GPS.

Importing a route

Atlas Vault can import routes from GPX and KML files — common formats used by hiking and navigation apps.

  1. 1Open the Routes section from the home screen
  2. 2Tap the + button
  3. 3Select a GPX or KML file from your device
  4. 4Preview the route on the map
  5. 5Choose a color for the route line
  6. 6Tap Save

Viewing route details

Tap a saved route to see its details: distance, elevation gain/loss, estimated duration, and an elevation profile chart.

Following a route

From the route detail screen, tap 'Follow'. The app will display the route on the map with your real-time GPS position. A navigation bar shows your progress, distance covered, and distance remaining.

Off-track warnings

If you stray more than 50 meters from the route, Atlas Vault will alert you with a vibration and visual warning. When you return within 30 meters, the warning clears automatically.

Tip
  • Download offline maps for the route area before starting your hike.
  • Keep your phone charged — GPS tracking uses battery.
