Downloading offline content

Download entire encyclopedias and reference material for offline access.

What are ZIM files?

ZIM is a file format for storing offline content. Atlas Vault lets you download curated content packs — including Wikipedia articles, medical references, and survival guides — that you can read without internet.

Browsing the catalog

Open the Library section from the home screen. The catalog shows available content packs with their size, language, and topic.

Downloading a pack

Tap on a content pack to see its details. Tap Download to save it to your device. Downloads happen in the background — you can continue using the app.

  1. 1Open Library from the home screen
  2. 2Browse the available content packs
  3. 3Tap a pack to see details (size, description)
  4. 4Tap Download
  5. 5Wait for the download to complete (shown in progress bar)

Storage considerations

ZIM files can be large (hundreds of MB to several GB). Make sure you have enough free storage before downloading. You can delete packs you no longer need to free space.

Tip
  • Download at least one medical reference and one general encyclopedia while you have internet.
